When is Thanksgiving and what is it?

A:

Thanksgiving is a holiday on the second Monday of October.  Traditionally, it is an opportunity for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year. Usually, Nova Scotia families have a Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday or Monday of that weekend. Dinner typically includes a roast turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes, pumpkin pie and other family specialties.
